Mark is an author with a passion for Australian history. His books, The Legend of Moondyne Joe and The Legend of Lasseter’s Reef, aim to encourage an appreciation of Australia’s unique myths and legends. Both books have won the West Australian Premier’s Award for children’s books. His latest release, Fortuyn’s Ghost, tells the haunting story of an ill-fated Dutch East India ship.

Mark's other books, Magic Boomerang, Outback Adventure and Our Big Island, were prompted an interest in multicultural literature and the unique way illustrated books can assist children to develop an understanding of other cultures and perspectives.
 
As a musician Mark has worked for major record labels and completed numerous recordings for the worlds' foremost recording artists and record producers. He enjoys working with creative people of all ages and backgrounds inspiring them to develop their natural curiosity about books, writing and rhythm. Mark often incorporates percussion and rhythm into literature based workshops to stimulate imagination and creativity.

In 2008 Mark's first young adult novel will be published, along with Simpson and His Donkey, a new picture book illustrated by Frané Lessac.
